The ADU-552 Adapter Unit functions as mechanical and electrical adapter between the F-15E´s two SUU-59/A wing station pylons and the LAU-128/A rail launchers.

The LAU-128/A launcher is attached to the ADU-552 Adapter Unit by two bolts, which are positioned in the centerline of the launcher rail. The ADU-552 is again attached to the SUU-59/A wing station pylon by four bolts on the top and bottom of the unit.
