We would like to dedicate this website to the brave Strike Eagle crewmen who have made the supreme sacrifice:
Capt. Eric "Boot" Das
30, of Amarillo, TX, was on a bombing mission near Tikrit when his plane went down on April 7, 2003.
He and his Weapon Systems Officer Maj. William R. "Salty" Watkins III, were killed.
Das was assigned to the 333rd Fighter Squadron, Seymour-Johnson AFB, NC.
Maj. William R. "Salty" Watkins III
37, of Danville, VA, was killed in action April 7, 2003 while supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Watkins was assigned to the 333rd Fighter Squadron, Seymour Johnson AFB, NC.
He was Capt. Eric Das' Weapon Systems Officer.
Lt.Col. William E. Morel III
and his instructor Weapon Systems Officer
Capt. Jeffrey K. Fahnlander were on a night training mission when their aircraft crashed in a remote location near McDermitt State Airport, OR, on
October 21, 1998. He was assigned to the 391st Fighter Squadron at Mountain-Home AFB, ID
Capt. Jeffrey K. "Flounder" Fahnlander
was an instructor Weapon Systems Officer with the 391st Fighter Squadron, Mountain-Home AFB, ID. He and his pilot Lt.Col William E. Morell III were killed on a night training mission for surface attack tactics in Oregon on October 21, 1998.
Capt. Dennis White
and his pilot Capt. Brian Udell were on a night training mission over the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of North Carolina when they had to eject from their aircraft at more than 780 mph seconds before the aircraft crashed into the sea on April 18, 1995.
Capt. White was killed. He was assigned to the 336th Fighter Squadron, Seymour-Johnson AFB, NC.
Maj. Bruce "Phoid" Netardus
from El Campo, TX, was assigned to the 57th Wing's F-15E Division at Nellis AFB, NV.
He and his Weapon Systems Officer Lt.Col. Wendell Johnson were killed when their F-15E aircraft crashed in the Nevada desert north-east of Las Vegas 2:40 pm on August 10, 1992.
Lt.Col. Wendell "Sheik" Johnson
from Greensboro, NC, was the operations officer of the 57th Wing´s F-15E Division at Nellis AFB, NV.
He and his pilot Maj. Bruce Netardus were both killed when their aircraft crashed during a training mission on August 10, 1992.
Maj. Thomas F. "Teek" Koritz
39, of Rochelle, IL, and his Weapons System Officer Lt.Col. Donnie Holland were killed in action during the initial wave of attacks on Iraqi military targets on January 16, 1991.
Koritz was assigned to the 335th Tactical Fighter Squadron, Seymour Johnson AFB, NC.
Lt.Col. Donnie R. "Chief Dimpled Balls" Holland
42, of Bastrop, LA, was killed in action on January 16, 1991 while supporting Operation Desert Storm.
Holland had been in the Air Force for 17 years, but this was the first combat mission he had flown.
He was assigned to the 335th Tactical Fighter Squadron, Seymour Johnson AFB, NC.
Maj. Peter S. Hook
and his Weapon Systems Officer Capt. Jim Poulet were killed on a training mission in preparation for Operation Desert Storm in Oman on September 30, 1990. He was assigned to the 336th Tactical Fighter Squadron 'Rocketeers', Seymour-Johnson AFB, NC, and had been awarded 'Flight Commander of the Year' honors.
Capt. James B. "Boo Boo" Poulet
was killed on a low-level training mission in the Oman desert during Operation Desert Shield on September 30, 1990. He was assigned to the 336th Tactical Fighter Squadron 'Rocketeers', Seymour-Johnson AFB, NC.
