How to build Tamiya's 1/32 F-15E Strike Eagle |
Day 2 | |
| |
| Photo 8: Preparation for painting. Using double-sided adhesive tape to fix plastics. | |
| |
| Photo 9: For undercoat, I mix Mr. Surfacer1000 and Mr. Color thinner 1:1 ratio for hand spray. | |
| |
| Photo 10: I use Tamiya's hand piece, compressor and Testor's Spray Booth for air brushing. Behind the booth, there is a fan which is installed in the window. | |
| |
| Photo 11: After long recess, de-assemble and clean up hand piece! | |
| |
| Photo 12: Wash well with Lacquer thinner. | |
| |
| Photo 13: I do not use spray can primer for tiny detailed mold such as cockpit panels. It might be dull. | |
| |
| Photo 14: After dried out, sand any tiny dust with No. 1200 sanding paper. | |
| |
| Photo 15: I do not use cutter knife for removing etching part. Etching scissors is good for it. | |
| |
| Photo 16: Use knife or model saw for cutting resin parts. | |
| |
| Photo 17: This is the best modeling tool for bending etching parts: Hold'n'Fold. | |
| |
| Photo 18:Seat belt is too tiny for me. I gave up to attach it. Instead, I ordered CEC's resin seat with belt molded. I will use this seat with crew and CEC for without crew. | |
| |
| Photo 19: Such a dull mold and such a sharp edge of parting lines! | |
| |
| Photo 20: Shave parting lines and make it sharp by scraping under seat belt. | |
| |
| Photo 21: How about this? | |
| |
| Photo 22: I use Tamiya's can spray for metal parts. | |
| |
| Photo 23: Crew is also white primered! | |
| |
| Photo 24: Let's start painting. This paint mixing tool is awesome. As for Tamiya's acrylic water color, Top and bottom color is different unless you mix well. | |
| |
| Photo 25: Base color for inside cockpit is painted with Tamiya's XF-19. | |
