A three-quarter right view of a loaded F-15E Strike Eagle, 366th Air Expeditionary Wing (366th WG), 391st Fighter Squadron (FS), Mountain Home AFB, Idaho, sits on the rain soaked ramp at a forward operating location in Southwest Asia in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM. The F-15E has two AIM-120A Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missiles (AMRAAM), two AIM-9 Sidewinders, and four GBU-12 Paveway II 500-pound bombs. It also is fitted with a Martin Marietta Low-Altitude Navigation and Targeting InfraRed for Night (LANTIRN) System. The F-15E Strike Eagle is a dual-role fighter designed to perform air-to-air and air-to-ground missions. An array of avionics and electronics systems gives the F-15E the capability to fight at low altitude, day or night, and in inclement weather and perform its primary function as an air-to-ground attack aircraft.
